Every Wood Badge man spends a week on the hill, And not one bit of it is a bore. But he's not through with the work when he's down from the hill, He must work for at least sometime more. Yes, he works in his District, his Council or his Unit, Using skills and having Scouting fun, And he gets neckerchief, woggle and his beads When his ticket is done. With goals that are challenging, Ticket, Ticket, Concrete and measurable, Ticket, Ticket. You get neckerchief, woggle and your beads When your ticket is done. Oh! I once knew a man who worked hard on the hill, But then for a while he retired. When he sent in his work, he did not get his beads, For his full eighteen months had expired. And what you must do so this won't happen to you Write it up, get your working begun. And you'll get neckerchief, woggle and your beads When your ticket is done. |

I used to be a Fox And a good old Fox too. But, now I'm finished Foxing I don't know what to do. I'm growing old and feeble And I can Fox no more. So, I'm going to work my ticket if I can. Back to Gilwell, Happy Land. I'm going to work my ticket if I can. |
| A long time ago when Wood Badge first began The Scouters put their trust in a British man. He vowed to give them skills to reach their Scouting goals, First thing that he did was put them in patrols. He made Bobwhites, and Beavers and Buffaloes, Some Foxes and Eagles and some Antelopes, The Owls and Bears with tickets just like you and me, And they were charged with BP's legacy. They met every morning down on Gilwell Field And BP's ways of Scouting were there revealed. He taught them to be leaders and to do good deeds He sent them out to earn two wooden beads. Since BP has gone home to Scouter's Heaven We have W4-49-07! And when our outdoor week up on the hill is through We'll go back and show them all what we can do! 'Cause we're Bobwhites and Beavers and Buffaloes, The Foxes and the Eagles and the Antelopes, The Owls and Bears with tickets -- now it's you and me, We're fully charged with BP's legacy! |
